Ian Cohen has been appointed as national head of clinical negligence and personal injury at Simpson Millar.
Cohen, who joined Simpson Millar in 2017, confirmed his appointment on Twitter. He has 25 years of experience in medical negligence cases.
His career highlights include acting as the lead solicitor of the Organ Retention Litigation relating to Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool, fighting for justice on behalf of hundreds of parents.
He was also the lead solicitor in a landmark case that established the alternative dispute resolution protocol for the NHS Litigation Authority. Cohen represented hundreds of patients who had suffered at the hands of a surgeon performing urogynaecological operations.
He also has extensive experience in life-changing injuries including birth injuries, acquired brain injuries and amputation cases.
Cohen has a keen interest in business development in clinical negligence and law firms. He is based in the Leeds office of Simpson Millar.
