HCML has launched a recruitment and skills drive as part of its plan to lead the catastrophic injury market.
The rehabilitation case management company’s work on several high-profile incidents and expansion of its specialist case manager team have prompted the move.
Keith Bushnell, chief executive of HCML, explained: “We trebled our catastrophic case-load in the last year after attracting the best specialists in spinal cord injury, brain injury and amputee case management. We now have a dedicated spinal cord injury team covering the UK and intend to be the obvious home for more of these sought after specialists who can engage with clients and families to re-build lives.”
“Ahead of an anticipated skills shortage in this field we are also building skills. We have put case managers through master’s degrees in various catastrophic injury disciplines who are now working under the supervision of our specialist case managers.
“The newly established HCML Academy is also providing continuous team training in the latest clinical and managerial skills and product innovations.”
HCML is “in this for the long term” and investing heavily so that its clients thrive. “We mean to be first choice for both insurers and claimant solicitors seeking clear outcomes, and the recent discount rate changes make the case for our approach even more urgent,” Bushnell added.
“Our mission is to have the strongest national network of specialist case managers with clinical excellence in all catastrophic injury fields to offer bespoke case management services to help each client maximise recovery and independence.”
